HER Foundation is proud to announce a major initiative to improve menstrual health and hygiene for incarcerated women across Sri Lanka. The Foundation has donated a substantial supply of sanitary napkins to the Sri Lanka Prison Department, covering each month’s requirement for all 14 prisons island-wide.

This initiative will benefit female inmates in facilities including Welikada, Agunukolapalassa, Anuradhapura, Negombo, Kalutara, Kuruwita, Vavuniya, Badulla, and many others.

Alongside the donation, HER Foundation conducted two awareness sessions on menstrual health and hygiene, reaching 160 female inmates. These sessions aimed to educate the participants on proper menstrual hygiene management, dispel common myths and stigmas, and promote overall menstrual well-being. By providing both the necessary products and essential knowledge, the Foundation is empowering these women to manage their menstrual cycles with dignity and confidence.
